- $113,497 - $120,417 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 7) + Superannuation

Your new role
Do you have a comprehensive knowledge of the Planning Act, the Planning Scheme operation and associated legislation and are ready to advance in your career? An opportunity has become available for a Principal Planning Officer to take the lead in providing planning advice and information to internal and external stakeholders.
Using your knowledge of relevant planning schemes and legislation you will effectively monitor the review and assessment of development applications ensuring compliance with relevant statutory provisions. Using your well-developed communication skills, you will engage with members of the community and provide a high level of customer service to stakeholders.
Your natural leadership skills will allow you to assist lower classified officers, ensuring complex issues are resolved. Your tertiary qualifications and substantial experience interpreting planning schemes, along with experience producing comprehensive reports in a logical, plain-English and professional manner will ensure your success in this role.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Application Criteria
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Planning Act, other relevant legislation, Planning Scheme operation, and policies as they relate to Local Government development regulation.
- High level proficiency in comprehensive report writing and demonstrated ability to produce logical, plain-English, and professional written communication.
- Demonstrated team and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide leadership and mentoring to others.
- High level oral communication skills with ability to engage and address members of the wider community, provide accurate advice and ensure a quality customer service is provided to internal and external stakeholders.
