The National Strategy (Policy Funding Negotiation - Early Years) team is seeking a Principal Policy Officer to work on a wide variety of matters including participation in national and state policy and research activities to inform the future direction of early childhood in Queensland and the provision of support and advice to senior officers on a range of strategic issues impacting the education sector.
The role of Principal Policy Officer is offered on a temporary full-time basis, until 30 September 2024, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role
Your key responsibilities will involve complex research and analysis, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and the development of strategic policy advice and solutions for consideration of the Minister, Director-General and senior officers to resolve issues impacting early childhood education and care in Queensland - and in relation to national initiatives.
You will have strong capability in strategic thinking, critical analysis, written ability and interpersonal skills. While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
