The Policy and Programs Unit in the Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group fulfils a broad range of policy and program functions focused on the operational policing areas of child protection, child death reviews, and sexual violence.
As part of the team, you will help to drive and implement the Service's strategic agenda in relation to child protection and sexual violence, including providing capability and capacity to better support investigators responding to child abuse and sexual violence, to ensure a process of continuous improvement and organisational cultural change.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Drive and implement the Service's strategic agenda in relation to child abuse and exploitation, and implement key recommendations from the state and national inquiries.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance QPS business improvement, including child abuse and sexual violence matters.
- Provide expert advice, support and guidance to leadership teams, stakeholder groups and program and project teams in support of deliverables.
- Lead and manage assigned program and project activities using contemporary program and project management and related frameworks, methodologies, and policies.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders that facilitates informed business decisions, improves business processes and meets changing business needs.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the QPS and partner agencies to deliver initiatives in accordance with prioritised business objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of work deliverables, initiatives and business support priorities.
- Develop and implement change management and communications initiatives that complement business improvements.

- There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however, possession of a tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be highly regarded.
