The role

Reporting to the Manager, Prevention Strategy Branch, you will leverage your expertise to guide strategy development, project planning, implementation, and evaluation. Your proficiency in applying evidence, theory, and judgment will be crucial in shaping and assessing health policies and interventions across diverse settings. Collaborating with internal units, you will adeptly manage investment planning and procurement processes, aligning with State Purchasing policies.

You will provide authoritative insights to senior management, partners, and stakeholders, influencing strategic policy and overseeing the execution of complex preventive health interventions. Your role extends to analysing and effectively communicating intricate ideas related to government recommendations and leading collaborations with internal and external partners to enhance preventive health capacity and policy delivery. Additionally, you will be the face of the Branch, representing it on key committees and at regional/state forums.

The successful person

Success in this position requires a proven track record of leading the development, management, and evaluation of substantial multi-strategy health projects in collaboration with external agencies. Your expertise should extend to applying a high level of knowledge, skills, and proficiency in devising effective solutions for complex state-wide health policy challenges.

Furthermore, you should showcase demonstrated capabilities in delivering high-level communication, consultation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, particularly at a senior level. Managing client and stakeholder relations amidst a changing environment is also crucial. A high level of motivation, coupled with flexibility in your approach to work and the working environment, is essential. Additionally, a willingness to actively engage in initiatives addressing priority issues as directed by management is expected.
