Product Management | Sydney, Australia | Remote, Remote | Full-Time

The Principal Product Manager - People.AI and Automation role is dedicated to revolutionising the way we approach Atlassian People teams through the application of cutting-edge AI and automation technologies. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with teams spanning Talent, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, People Operations, and more to identify opportunities for enhancing productivity and efficiency through the integration of AI and automation into their processes.

Spearhead the strategic vision for integrating AI and automation within the People team's processes.

Manage daily product management tasks, including backlog maintenance, roadmap development, and user story creation.

Champion a data-centric approach to enhance efficiency and automation within the People team's operations - Utilising metrics to make informed decisions.

Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the incorporation of AI and automation within the People team's processes, ensuring alignment with the broader Atlassian objectives.

Forge strong partnerships with internal technology teams to support the delivery of new capabilities and improvements, significantly enhancing the People team's operations.

Collaboratively manage the requirements gathering process, crafting detailed product specifications that accurately define problems, opportunities, goals, metrics, use cases, and product requirements.

Continuously monitor product performance, tracking essential metrics to refine and enhance features, thus elevating usability, functionality, and overall Atlassians satisfaction.

Act as a liaison between the People team and engineers, channeling feedback and ensuring that technological solutions effectively meet operational needs.

Proactively explore and experiment with new technologies in the AI and automation space, advocating for innovative applications within our processes.

Establish and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, guaranteeing strategic alignment and driving successful outcomes.

Identify and explore new use cases for expanding the application of current tools (e.g., HRIS platforms, ATS systems) and technologies, enhancing operational efficiency and employee experience.

A strategic thinker and problem solver who employs both quantitative and qualitative data to guide the development of your roadmap, focusing on both immediate improvements and long-term initiatives.

Proven ability in fostering cross-functional collaboration, effectively engaging with and influencing stakeholder teams to scale user adoption and operational efficiency.

A strong background in product roles focused on business, internal operations or HR technology, demonstrating an acute understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within these areas.

Experience with AI and automation tools relevant to human resources and talent management (e.g., chatbots for employee engagement, AI-driven talent acquisition platforms) is desirable.

An ability to quickly grasp complex systems and technical concepts, engaging confidently in discussions related to high-level process improvements, tools, and AI applications.

Independence in managing workload with minimal supervision, demonstrating efficiency in a distributed, remote, and global organisation.

Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a proven track record of creative and critical thinking capabilities.

Possesses the skill to "sell the dream," leveraging a wide variety of storytelling techniques to confidently articulate the vision and purpose of our products to leaders at all levels, including executives.

A metrics-driven approach to decision making, using data to frame, inform, and guide prioritisation and to assess the impact of implemented solutions.

A continuous improvement mindset, always seeking opportunities to enhance existing processes and workflows for the benefit of the organisation and its employees.

About You

Extensive experience as a Product Manager, highly desirable in the domains of internal operations, HR technology, or productivity-enhancing tools. Your focus should have been on leveraging technology to streamline processes and achieve significant efficiency gains or productivity improvements.

A passion for leveraging technology to solve complex problems, improve employee experiences, and drive operational excellence.

Strong familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in AI and automation.

Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical teams across the organisation.
