About this opportunity
We are looking for an inspiring individual to join the Next Generation Tram team as the Principal Project Manager, Operational Integration and Readiness, NGT. This opportunity is offered as a 2 year fixed term. Reporting to the deputy Director, NGT this role involves:
- Lead planning and drive delivery of Yarra Trams Operational Integration activities for NGT project.
- Supporting the State in its rolling stock procurement and delivering on Yarra Tram's responsibilities as Rail Transport Operator under Rail Safety National Law.
- Work collaboratively across YT business units, the State and suppliers, operating in line with agreed project plans.
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Proven experience in Project Management from project initiation to delivery and handover to Business as Usual (BAU)/operations.
- Experience and knowledge regarding the management of a complex and detailed project.
- Experience in rail operations, safety and risk management
- Experience with cross functional and related projects impacting operations, maintenance, training, network impacts, OCMS, marketing, communications, corporate affairs, passenger experience, finance and safety accreditation.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of OHS&E legislative requirements and individual duty of care
- Experience in dealing with Government.
- Relevant experience, preferably in operations and management of change for passenger rail (light or heavy)
- Proven high level experience and knowledge of project management processes, methodologies, standards and templates, including the selection and use of project delivery methods that ensure that projects are delivered within time and cost parameters
- Experienced in influencing relevant parties to achieve program objectives and demonstrated initiative in solving problems.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement and working across functions to facilitate decisions and meet tight timelines.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
