Job description

The primary purpose of the Principal Project Manager role is the management and implementation of a range of Capital Projects. The role will be responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team, focussed on high performance, accountability, and project excellence. This role will also lead the integration of project requirements including: engineering, cost, constructability, land planning and environment, communications, and stakeholder relations.
The role would confidently represent the Department with contractors and negotiate with them as well as resolve complex issues through a process of consultation and negotiation with key stakeholders. Authoritative expert advice and technical report are likely to be required. The role would also focus on stakeholder issues and influence their views.

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
* Oversee the management and budget of the fixtures, furniture and fittings, clinical and non-clinical equipment elements and the information and technology, security design, specification, procurement plans, tender packages and expenditures in collaboration with the managing contractor and relevant stakeholders.
* Provide leadership and direction in managing sample tech data workflows for all design disciplines – including architecture, civil, services, security, comms, review, and workflows.
* Develop and drive the commissioning and handover documentation processes in collaboration with the managing contractor, track and review handover packages as built, warranties, certificates, manuals maintenance schedules, Independent Commissioning Agent in preparation for handover to Forensicare.
* Manage and participate in the evaluation of tender package bids and participate in liaison and negotiations associated with tender processes with suppliers to ensure trade packages are let within trade budgets.
* Design, develop and implement a defects management process in collaboration with Forensicare and the managing contractor, ensuring that defects and outstanding works are responded to and managed in a timely and effective manner.
* Manage responses to any commercial/legal/technical clarification questions on FFE/ICT and Security by the Managing Contractor and assist in the evaluation of the commercial/legal/technical components of any proposal submitted by the managing contractor.
* Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports on complex matters for the commercial and technical management of high value high risk healthcare projects.
* Foster and maintain effective and strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and lead strategic partnerships with entities including Forensicare's project team, design consultants, the managing contractor, local authorities including the Yarra City Council and other key local stakeholders.
* Develop quality feasibility studies and master plan for identified client requests for capital projects.
* Monitor and report on project progress and expenditure and report to key stakeholders on overall program performance.
* Actively identify emerging pressures and possible issues and initiate risk management strategies to address them.
