Principal Project Manager - Website Redevelopment opportunity
- Approx. $85-$95 per hour plus Super dependent on experience
- Full-time, 6-month contract. Early January 2024 start

Government agency seeks an experienced Principal Project Manager for a Website Redevelopment project to join them on a full-time, 6-month contract based in Melbourne CBD. As the Principal Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of complex internal and public facing digital and technical initiatives, managing resource allocation, stakeholder communication, and the delivery of high-quality, on-time digital products.
As the Principal Project Manager, you will deliver a number of strategic outcomes, including the creation of a Digital Strategy, delivery of an intranet, an organisational rebrand, introduction of content governance and digital risk management.
Responsibilities and duties
Key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Deliver strategic digital and technical projects including the creation of a Digital Strategy, delivery of an intranet, an organisational rebrand, introduction of content governance and digital risk management, and other activities as required.
- Deliver plans for the organisation's digital assets to ensure they align with the organisation's strategic plan and achieve organisational objectives.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for the digital service delivery, including (but limited to) software development, visual design, content development, security and accessibility.
- Maintain project management artefacts including the monitoring and identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and financials (forecasts, actuals, variance), and manage reporting of the project's status to the website's governance layer and departmental reporting where required.
- Manage the contracts and performance of an ecosystem of delivery partners to ensure they deliver quality outcomes based on the contractual and service level requirements.
- Prepare the organisation's website for the transition and handover of business-as-usual ICT activities to the relevant department units.
Knowledge and skills that you will need to demonstrate include:
- Strong strategic planning skills in a government environment
- Project management skills in a government environment
- Extensive knowledge of digital technology, legislative and other standards as they apply to website delivery
- Extensive knowledge of software lifecycle and website support, maintenance and operational management
- Strong ICT procurement, technical contract management and service integration and management expertise
- Degree qualified in Digital Technologies or related fields and/or proven relevant professional/industry experience.
- Demonstrated history of success in digital/Website Redevelopment projects.
