Our core functions include:
- Responsible for the management of a diverse range of contracts related to Council's unique Property Portfolio, including commercial, retail, industrial, residential, telecommunication, aerodromes, caravan parks and tourist attractions.
- Commercialising property, aiming to maximise revenue from Council's Property Portfolio.
- Representing Council as both landlord and tenant, in accordance with Council's accommodation needs.
- Providing technical advice to Council on leasing, licencing, management and operational contracts related to property transactions in line with legislative requirements.
- Coordination and facilitation of property related projects within the portfolio to meet the needs of tenants and the community.
Exciting new technical leadership role! As our Principal Property Portfolio Officer, you will manage all aspects of Council's commercial Property Portfolio, inclusive of both revenue and expenditure agreements, including commercial, industrial, retail, residential, agistments, aerodromes, holiday parks and telecommunication sites, as well as the administration of various property management related contracts.
About you
We are seeking someone who has extensive experience in a commercial property operations environment, contract negotiations and administration (particularly with property agreements), management of tenancy agreements, property lease management, performance management for complex assets and the provision of property services.
You will be a confident negotiator and have the ability to consult with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be a technical leader and have the opportunity to mentor others within the property team. You are able to think strategically, problem solve and provide options to Council in relation to the Property Portfolio in order to reach an appropriate outcome.
You will have a Degree in law, property, valuation, property economics or equivalent skills acquired through competency based on extensive demonstrated experience.
