Temporary Job Share Opportunity
Mackay Regional Council is seeking a skilled Senior Portfolio Governance & Scheduling Officer to join our Portfolio Management team in Mackay CBD on a temporary 12-month contract job share position for (25 hours a fortnight).
We are looking for candidates interested in flexible work options. We welcome applications from those seeking part-time, school-hour-compatible schedules, and options for those seeking a second job with flexibility available between 07:00 am and 5:00 pm.
You'll assist in managing our Enterprise Project Management Framework (EPMF) and Portfolio Management systems. Your main tasks will include overseeing the Capital Works schedule, ensuring consistency, and collaborating with different departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers in establishing consistent program timelines across council.
- Conduct governance audits within Capital Works, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Compile and present monthly milestone reports to management.
- Establish project baselines in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Consolidate individual project schedules into an overall portfolio and council works schedule.
- Review project schedules for accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to conduct training sessions on project scheduling.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Current QLD “C” class driver’s license.
- Formal qualifications in Project Management are advantageous.
- Practical experience in process development and governance compliance.
- Proficiency in Project Scheduling, including managing multiple programs.
- Ability to provide project support with sound judgement and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in business and information management systems.
- Familiarity with software like Microsoft Project/Primavera, Excel, and databases.
Salary & Benefits Package:
- Base Hourly Rate $48.07
- 11% Superannuation Contribution
- Choice of 4 or 5 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading (pro-rata)
