As a Principal Red Hat Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing leadership, guidance, and expertise in managing our Red Hat infrastructure. You will be responsible for mentoring Level 2 and Level 3 Infrastructure Engineers, providing technical leadership to application teams, and advancing troubleshooting capabilities across Red Hat and Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and coach Level 2 and Level 3 Infrastructure Engineers, fostering their professional development and technical growth.
- Provide guidance and leadership to application teams, ensuring alignment with infrastructure best practices and standards.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Red Hat infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Advance troubleshooting techniques and methodologies across Red Hat and Linux environments, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess, plan, and implement infrastructure improvements and upgrades.
- Conduct regular performance analysis and optimization of Red Hat infrastructure components to enhance reliability and scalability.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Red Hat technologies, continually seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Participate in incident response and problem management activities, providing expertise and guidance to resolve complex issues effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Solid experience in mentoring and coaching Level 2 and Level 3 Infrastructure Engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Extensive expertise in Red Hat and Linux environments, with advanced troubleshooting skills across a variety of infrastructure components.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance and technical leadership to application teams.
- Red Hat certifications (e.g., RHCE, RHCA) preferred.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
