Key Responsibilities
As a Principal Development Assessment Planner, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the staff of the development and building section. Your focus will be on ensuring that development outcomes align with the natural, built, social, and economic environment, all within the broader scope of public interest in the council area.
- Assisting the team Coordinator in identifying and proposing enhancements to business processes for statutory compliance and improved efficiency within the Directorate.
- Guiding specialised team members under the direction of the Coordinator Development Assessment to ensure clarity, accuracy, and efficiency in their work.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of assessment systems and processes.
- Handling Court Appeals, Major Development Applications, Modifications to Consent, and Reviews within the Council's Development and Building Section.
Qualifications and Skills
- Tertiary Qualifications in town planning or equivalent
- NSW Drivers licence
- Proven experience managing a team in development assessment.
- Excellent understanding of NSW Local Government and the social, political, legal and regulatory frameworks in which it operates.
- Excellent knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act and related planning legislation and concepts as they relate to development assessment.
- White Card or equivalent
