About the role:
Unittywater is building a recycled water pipeline that will contribute to year-round water security for farmers in the Wamuran region. This exciting new position is critical to Unitywater’s commitment to zero net nutrients in our waterways by 2050. In this position you will provide technical support to assist the management and optimisation of the recycled water treatment plant and irrigation scheme, ensuring legislative requirements are met. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Optimise the performance of the recycled water treatment plant product quality and support in operating cost reduction, improved energy efficiency, and increased process capacity.
- Compile, analyse, trend data and prepare reports for various internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the resolution of process and equipment issues at the plant and use innovative ways to solve complex problems with optimal solutions which are cost effective.
- Investigate and respond to enquiries from the general public regarding recycled water treatment plants operations; and when required participate in the management of incidents.
About you:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty & Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
- Experience with optimisation and maintenance of recycled water and/or water treatment processes and technologies or Food and Beverage, HACCP systems.
- Knowledge of the Acts, Regulation and Legislation relating to recycled water and experience in implementing and managing similar schemes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or other relevant fields of Engineering or Applied Science.
- High level of interpersonal communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong investigative, analytical and research skills.
- Strong decision-making skills and an ability to effectively plan and co-ordinate diverse and complex tasks and projects in an environment experiencing rapid change.
