The Opportunity
Alstom's well regarded Metronet project, based in Bellevue is excited to share two available Process Engineerpositions within the electrical and mechanical fields.
With a focus on continuous improvement, these roles aim at improving the manufacturing process of Railcars and assemblies in the manufacturing facility and are for a fixed term of 2 years. (With ongoing review and consideration of business requirements, we endeavour to provide longer term opportunities at the end of this term if appropriate).
Core responsibilities across each phase include;
- Performing industrial documentation for the project, validation of prototypes and develop specifications of industrial means for serial production
- Driving continuous improvement actions and industrialize product and process changes.
- Gather, understand and apply industrial requirements and manufacturing equipment specifications from technical and engineering teams and participate in the product design process
- Support production to achieve manufacturing quality, cost and delivery targets
- Lead continuous improvement workshops, perform detail line balancing and define workstation layouts with consideration to ergonomic, EHS and optimisation guidelines
As the lead for increasing process improvement skills and supporting the serial production process, we are looking for;
- Proven technical experience from a similar role ideally within an industry closely related to the rail, manufacturing, automotive or similar
- Technical experience of Process Engineering, writing and improving manufacturing working instructions, line balancing and lean manufacturing
- Working experience with an ERP (such as SAP)
- A continuous improvement lens and a naturally collaborative team member who is able to obtain key technical inputs and apply to process improvements
