Processing Operators

MZ Mining is a mineral sands mining company focused on the production of heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) in the Murray Basin in South Australia. The Company’s principal asset is the Mindarie Mineral Sands Project located 150km east of Adelaide in the Mallee region of South Australia with a Head Office in Adelaide.

MZ Mining has commenced production and the first shipment is underway. This role, based Mindarie site, provides the opportunity to be part a growing Processing team in this exciting project.

About the Role:

As part of the production team, ensure production targets are met and exceeded with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

• Promote a safe, healthy, cooperative and productive work environment by observing all company safety and environment policies and procedures and encouraging others to do so. Contribute positively to safety meetings & pre-starts.
• Monitor designated areas of the process plant and accurately record data as required by the production and metallurgy departments including all log sheets and downtime/standby time records.
• Conduct operational and prestart checks, liaise with other Processing Operators and perform all assigned tasks to ensure optimal operation of the plant.
• Carry out all tasks as directed by the Processing Supervisor in a timely manner and carry out other cross departmental tasks as required.
• Actively participate in shift changeovers ensuring all reporting requirements have been completed along with an effective handover.
• Occasionally act in roles that work in parallel with the processing operations team, such as mining crews, laboratory or technician.
• Participate in training to gain competence in operating procedures, safety systems and environmental requirements through the processing career development plan.

About You:

• A collaborative team player, with a can-do attitude and hands-on experience in a processing plant.
• Previous experience in mining processing is highly regarded.
• Practical ability in mobile machinery.
• Excellent communication skills.
