Serving a population of over 250,000 people across Cairns, Tablelands and Cassowary Coast regions, as well as providing services to the Torres Strait and Cape York region, CHHHS is at the forefront of healthcare provision in the region. Cairns Hospital is the primary referral hospital for Far North Queensland.
CHHHS provides an extensive range of health services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres. The Health Service is 95% self-sufficient with only a small number of high-level acute services being provided in Townsville and Brisbane.
About the Role and You
As the Manager of Procurement and Contracts, you will report to the Chief Finance Officer and be instrumental in leading the Procurement and Contracts function. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading strategic and operational contract management and procurement activities.
- Providing expert advice to CHHHS executives and senior management to deliver effective commercial negotiations.
- Analysing existing contractual arrangements to identify efficiencies and savings.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, audit and policy requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal and contractual requirements.
- Extensive experience in procurement services within large organisations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
