Procurement Lead

The role

This Government agency based in Burwood are looking for a Procurement Lead to join the team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for managing the strategic sourcing team, negotiate with suppliers, and generate contracts to ensure seamless availability of products and services needed to support departmental objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team that has authority for developing and undertaking strategic sourcing projects
• Work with business units in mapping out tender scope, taking tenders to market and leading tender evaluation
• Develop and implement an effective procurement strategy
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation

Required

• Extensive demonstrable experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles
• Experience in ICT procurement
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to lead negotiations and finalise contracts with suppliers
