Navantia Australia currently has an exciting opportunity for a 12 month fixed term contract role for a Procurement Manager to join the team out of its Garden Island, Sydney office. The AOR Procurement Manager is responsible for delivering Procurement services across material and service categories to support the AOR Program. Responsible for leading a team of Procurement Officers in the use of SAP and MILIS to perform procurement activities

In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a team of Procurement Officers using SAP and MILIS to perform transactional duties compliant with Navantia and Commonwealth procurement procedures and policies.
- Manage all stages of the procurement processes, ensuring milestones and key dates are achieved.
- Attend and present procurement information at the Integrated Product Team meetings during EMP’s.
- Support the Planning Manager and Ship Project Managers through status reporting on EMP contracting activities ensuring information is timely and accurate.
- Conduct value for money, commercial and technical evaluations of RFQ/RFT responses.
- Review and approve AOR Purchase Orders in SAP ensuring compliance with Navantia and Commonwealth requirements.
- Prepare for and present AOR Program purchase orders at the Navantia Procurement Committee.
- Effectively manage the workload distribution between AOR Procurement Officers.
- Brief the AORCASPO on Procurement initiatives and activities in monthly Sustainment IPT.
- Provide guidance to external functions on procurement processes and procedures.
- Proactively manage supplier performance to meet contract requirements in terms of schedule, cost, and quality, establishing and integrating relevant key performance indicators.
- Assist with inventory investment planning to ensure that the stock available is sufficient to satisfy the demand of inventory for the specified period.
- Support the Inventory Manager with replenishment activities to improve the DSR.
- Provide monthly and quarterly Procurement Spend contributions to the CSR and CSSR.
- Identify and manage procurement risks using the Navantia Risk Management tool Predict.
- Mentor and train Procurement Officers and Supply Chain staff on Navantia and Commonwealth procurement processes and procedures.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Business Management (Specialty Procurement) or related discipline
- 5 years proven skills and experience in procurement in a Defence Environment
- Experience in a Procurement environment in a multinational organization
- Experience managing complex tenders (RFT) including evaluations and awards.
- Ability to work with technical drawings and parts lists
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in MILIS and other Defence tools
- Understanding of LIS, CM and RAM
- Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance.
