About the Role:
We are looking for a Procurement Officer to develop and implement strategies that are aligned with the project business objectives. This role will work closely with Operational line managers, as well as, finance, civil construction, developments, wharf, airport and business park to improve purchasing functions.
About You
With a strong background in Purchasing this is a good next step in your career as we will build with you all areas of the business into this role. You will be highly personable and have good commercial acument. You will work with the team on the ground to ensure cost effective processes and measures occur. You will enjoy making this role your own implementing processes from the ground up and bringing the business along for the journey.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Own the purchasing functions of the development business to ensure they are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to receive the best possible terms and conditions.
- Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant markets and ability to source alternatives.
- Anticipate trends that have the potential to impact the business and act on them.
- Conduct stock takes and reconciliations at agreed intervals.
Skills and experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Tertiary education in Procurement, Supply chain & logistics or relevant field highly regarded.
- Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong leadership, change management and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work within multiple project teams with competing demands and priorities.
- High degree of computer literacy
