THE ROLE & OPPORTUNITY

The Procurement Officer provides professional procurement advice to stakeholders, and in consultation with stakeholders, assists with tender documents\evaluation reports, and develops and manages medium and high-risk contracts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops medium and high-risk contracts, including procurement planning, tender documentation and evaluation, in consultation and negotiation with stakeholders.
  • Conducts business planning and scopes each allocated project, including identifying and progressing new contract opportunities.
  • Provides specialist advice to internal stakeholders, contractors and potential suppliers on procurement planning, contract development and management issues, including contract renewal and extension strategies
  • Assists business areas define their procurement needs and participates in re-engineering of existing contracts.
  • Manages medium-risk and high-risk contracts, including the development of contract management plans and performance indicators.
  • Provides advice to business areas with respect to managing contractual risks.
  • Liaises with stakeholders in order to resolve complex contractual disputes.
  • Ensures the department’s contract register and exemption register are compliant with requirements.
  • Maintains records on Tenders WA and prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Qualification in Procurement and Supply
  • At least 10 years in a similar Role
  • Highly organised and ability to manage time and priorities.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
