Procurement Officer - Sap

One of Australia's innovative Federal Government departments is looking to engage an experienced Procurement officer to join a multidisciplinary team in a crucial role supporting and providing procurement expertise, assisting stakeholders to manage procurement arrangements. You will lead and mentor a small team of cyber security and compliance professionals conducting risk and compliance assessments of internal and external connections to the departments systems. TheProcurement officer will be offered an initial 6 month contract with the view to be extended and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successfulProcurement officer will be responsible for the below:

• Establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external

stakeholders, including liaison, negotiation, and consultation.

• Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established legislation, policies and procedures to

meet business needs and participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements

that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes

• Implement and contribute to the development of contract management plans, resolve issues,

monitor performance and negotiate contract variations through effective supplier relationships

to enhance business outcomes

• Explain procurement processes and requirements to those responsible for business area spend

and persuade them to adopt best practice.

The successfulProcurement Officer will have experience in the following:

• Previous experience in government procurement and contract management
• Demonstrated ability to learn and use Financial Management Information Software (such as SAP)
• Good analytical skills with proven attention to detail
• Experience in Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
• Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.
