We now have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join the Supply Chain Team. This is a newly created position, reporting to the Procurement Manager and responsible for supporting the business’ NPI projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to align and plan Procurement activities.
- Assist in delivering NPD projects to enable business growth, with consideration to product brief and customer timings.
- Manage the RFx process with internal and external stakeholders.
- Seek innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times and customer service levels.
- Effectively manage the run-out process through cross functional collaboration.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure optimum service levels are achieved in accordance with business KPIs.
- Assist in the design and implementation of sourcing strategies to identify new supplier opportunities.
- Assist in negotiation of supply arrangements and contract terms of agreement, focusing on long term improvements.
- Assist in preparation of tenders and contract documentation, cost, terms and conditions negotiations with appropriate vendors.
- Assist in regular monitoring and reporting on drivers for variances through the year.
- Ensure vendor information and inventory purchasing protocols in the ERP system are accurate and maintained.
- Evaluate inventory expiry and obsolescence reports and coordinate actions as required.
Qualification & Key Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- An understanding of supply chain, procurement, and inventory management.
- Prior experience related to purchasing or stock control with a manufacturing organization is advantageous.
- An understanding of ERP / MRP systems parameters and how to configure settings to drive meaningful MRP information.
- Experience managing multiple priorities, meeting timelines, and adapting to change.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability and confidence to influence and negotiate.
