Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM).
- Fluency in Spanish, and additional languages is preferred.
- 5+ years experience in international logistics and trade, FCL, LCL, Air Freight, and urgent shipment handling.
- Strong knowledge of environmental and geotechnical site investigation processes, including sampling techniques, drilling methods, and laboratory analysis requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and Supply Chain management.
- Demonstrated success in Australia in managing procurement processes and Supply Chain operations for site investigation consumables, including drilling equipment, sampling tools, protective gear, chemicals, and laboratory supplies.
- Experience in coordinating logistics and transportation for the efficient deployment of equipment and materials to remote or challenging locations.
- Comprehensive understanding of procurement principles, Supply Chain management practices, and logistics operations.
- Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills, particularly in sourcing specialized equipment, consumables, and services required for site investigations.
- Proficiency in Xero Software.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for geotechnical, and environmental site investigation consumables, as well as drilling equipment, ensuring efficient Supply Chain management.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with both national and international suppliers to secure high-quality consumables at competitive prices. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of consumables while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
- Represent the organization in negotiations, conferences, and industry events related to geotechnical and environmental procurement and Supply Chain management.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, new products, and suppliers. Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships.
- Monitor inventory levels of consumables and forecast demand to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers and engineers, to understand consumable requirements and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to procurement and Supply Chain operations.
- Supervising the tasks of employees and evaluating their effectiveness.
