About the Role:
Salvos Stores are seeking a Full-time Product Manager(Maternity cover - 12 months starting May '24) to effectively manage the performance and continued improvement of the new product category for Salvos Stores
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Merchandise you will lead key activities such as the rationalisation of core range, event lines and opportunity buys via product performance analysis, trend identification and customer buying behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage product strategy including a strategic, customer segment driven approach to product ranging, innovation, and pricing.
- Drive product innovation, identifying emerging trends and opportunities in relation to new products.
- Manage the planning and forecasting relating to seasonal budgets and category performance and report on overall sales, gross margin, and direct costs of sales.
- Prepare and manage purchasing plans using current trends, past product performance and industry knowledge to ensure agreed expenditure and overall sales targets are met.
- Monitoring inventory levels held at store, local and interstate warehouses and ensuring suitable supply timelines are applied.
- Research suitable suppliers, overseeing product purchasing management including prices, transportation and other requirements to ensure that gross target margins are achieved.
- Create and implement a compliance framework ensuring that all new products meet Australian legislative requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
About you:
- Our ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years' experience in product/category management with a strong ability to build relationships, excellent negotiation skills and a successful record of product category growth and profitability. You also have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field
- Excellent people and management skills
- Strong written communication skills.
- A high level of experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- A class C Driver's Licence
