A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to take the next step in their career and have the future opportunity to become the Operations Manager.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Production Manager for a food packaging printing business in Rowville, Victoria, making lidding, film and labels using the flexographic and Gravure printing processes. The business is part of a well known global food company, providing support and future career progression for the right candidate.
Initially you will be responsible for the compliance, technical and HR management of the business, including HACCP, OH&S, EPA and dangerous goods, as well as management of the production floor activities. The opportunity then exists to take over the entire operations and business development functions for the site.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your duties will include:
- Supervise the operations of the production team, including rostering, HR management, production planning, stock control (including job bags and entry to the ERP system, JD Edwards) and day to day staff supervision.
- Work closely with the printing team, and the Head Office team, to maintain and further improve the internal compliance systems to ensure its conformity with the requirements of all relevant laws, management procedures and customer requirements. This includes,
- HACCP - Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points
- WHS – Workplace Health and Safety
- Dangerous Goods Storage and handling Regulations
- Customer Specific Requirements
- EPA – Environmental protection Authority (Victoria and National)
- Assist the sales and operations managers to work with customers in development of new business opportunities.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced manufacturing professional, from either the food or printing industry, looking to take the next steps in their career. You must have demonstrated experience in manufacturing leadership, as well as a firm understanding of business administration. In particular a strong understanding of regulatory compliance management, HACCP / Food industry preferred, but also other similar quality control systems such as ISO would be acceptable. Knowledge and experience in the printing industry would be an advantage, but is not essential.
