The reason for this role:
The Product Manager is accountable to Head of Engineering & Technology for the management of Wind turbine configuration / design compliance delivery / factory inspection for compliance / certification / noise & power curve warranty developing / power curve verification & noise compliance, including the management of consultants for noise/power curve testing and communication with the clients or other client’s subcontractors of projects on interfaces for the wind farm cBoP/eBoP design delivery.
What you will be doing?
- Provide the technical support to the projects in Australia, New Zealand.
- Develop and manage the wind turbine design plan to complete the technical requirements of Goldwind Australian projects.
- Work internally to manage the checklist on wind turbine configuration based on the technical requirement of the signed contract.
- Provide the technical support to project development/marketing team on wind turbine configuration / specification & design scope and the detail requirements for pre-contracting with potential subcontractors.
- Work with electrical design manager and civil design manager to make sure the interfaces design can be well managed, including turbine & cBoP, turbine & eBoP.
- Assist electrical design manager to communicate with transformer/RMU suppliers on compliance design.
- Work with R&D on the delivery of wind turbine certifications and assessment reports for all the projects.
- Work with project teams on wind turbine factory inspection and coordinate the resource to find the solutions for the non-compliance findings.
- Work with GWI solution team and R&D to develop the power curve & noise warranty specifications for EPC/TSI projects.
- Manage consultants on power curve verification as required and assist on noise compliance test and internal noise testing.
- Work with R&D on new type of turbine compliance design and lead the GWA internal team.
What does your background look like?
- Electrical engineering qualifications is essential.
- Contract Management or PMP is desired and expected.
- 5+ years’ experience at wind turbine design management.
- Knowledge of Mandarin highly desired.
- Good understanding of AS design principles, contracts, schedules, documentation management, and stakeholder management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Negotiation skills and ability to relate to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
- Ability to work effectively in a multiple cultural environment, including Australia/China cross culture.
- Travel – regional, interstate and occasionally overseas.
