My client is a leading company in the area of process packages for energy storage and distribution within the oil and gas industry working on a broad range of projects. This is a permanent fulltime opportunity.
Reporting to Operations team, this high calibre individual will be responsible for overseeing their Production/Workshop environment comprised of 5-7 individuals which is expected to grow. You will be required to organise, control and direct all aspects of manufacturing and warehouse operations.
About the role:
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure business complies with HSEQ commitments, best practice and accepted standards. Plan and forecast labour requirements, maintain a production schedule (Gantt chart) which identifies sold hours versus available hours.
- Manage and monitor production schedules and project timelines.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing business.
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal processes and policies in line with regulatory requirements.
- Work with the business owners to formulate and implement strategies to guide the organisation in maintaining and improving a competitive and profitable operation.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, service, ands minor works delivery teams, procurement, logistics and finance to ensure stocking levels, weekly dispatch, and business reporting is accurate.
- Drive excellence, improvement and growth by coaching and developing team members, train and develop personnel to facilitate a multi-skilled workforce, drive continuous improvement across the entire business.
- Ensure safety and quality continues to be paramount to the culture of the operation.
- Manage maintenance and upkeep of company buildings and grounds, tools and equipment, company vehicles and associated plant.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (I.e. Bachelors, Diploma preferred but those from a Trade qualification background will also be considered
- Previous experience working at an operations/production leadership level (production manager, manufacturing manager, site operations manager etc).
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working with piping, pressure vessels and rotating equipment or similar based systems is highly desirable
- A strategic focus and ability to efficiently plan and execute works.
- A strong desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- A high level of commitment to quality systems, with demonstrated success in establishing a strong safety and quality culture.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and utilise data and other information sources to improve operations.
- Strong written, oral, and numerical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively all levels of the organisation, including both technical and non-technical individuals
