About the roles
Working across our green houses and our outdoor production facilities and under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, these roles are responsible for:
- Completing watering checks daily to plan for subsequent watering requirements and identify and communicating any relative issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Undertaking chemical sprays and or fertiliser applications.
- Monitoring for pest, disease or quality concerns to be raised with the Growing Department.
- Removal of weeds in all work areas.
- Ensuring each area is left is clean and tidy daily.
- Ensuring Haars Safety requirements are adhered to at all times and incidents/injuries reported immediately.
In return, we need you to:
- Be positive and proactive with a strong desire to work in the industry.
- Have experience in supervising small teams with the ability to work cooperatively and respectfully in a fun, friendly, dynamic multicultural workforce.
- Be reliable, punctual, able to follow process and take direction well.
- Be fit and active – you’ll be on your feet for extended periods, working in different climates and, tasks will involve undertaking repetitive muscular movements.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Have flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required is essential due to the nature of the business. These roles are hands-on, and we work in all weather conditions.
To be considered, you need to be up for a challenge, happy to work outdoors, have excellent time management, communication and leadership skills. We need you to be reliable and able to commit. Horticulture qualifications are advantageous however not essential.
