Main Purpose of the Role:
The Production (Compounding) Technician forms part of Ab Initio Pharma’s production team and plays a key role in effective manufacture of products within the Cleanroom environment. The primary function of the Production (Compounding) Technician is to support the manufacture and packaging of products at Ab Initio Pharma. It also covers assisting in the generation and execution of batch manufacturing records for products suitable for clinical trials. An additional function of the role is to support the Production Scientist in the Cleaning program for the Cleanroom and ensure its clean conditions are ready for use. Where necessary, the Production (Compounding) Technician will also provide support to other projects and activities where priority is required, which may involve utilizing analytical and problem-solving skills.
Role Responsibility and Duties:
- Undertake production activities on all types of pharmaceutical dosage forms (liquid, capsules, powders, pMDI, nasal sprays, etc.) in Ab Initio Pharma’s manufacturing facility.
- Conduct packaging processes (including blinding and randomisation) for clinical trial batches.
- Work alongside Production Scientist in the manufacture of batches and maintain batch manufacturing records.
- Working to GMP and completing other paperwork.
- Maintain cleanroom equipment and records.
- Any other duties suitable to classification, as requested by directors and COO.
Skills & Experience:
- Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent.
- Tertiary qualifications in Science related field are preferable.
- Willingness to learn about GMP as applied to production.
- A positive “can-do” attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated team player with ability to take on different responsibilities within a team environment, good attention to details.
- Skills in Pharmaceutical formulation and/or GMP are highly desirable but not essential.
