CPE Construction has been established in Cobram, Victoria for over 30 years and has the capacity to take commercial and industrial projects of any size from concept to completion. CPE Construction is part of the greater CG&C Group, our multidisciplinary workforce includes Project Managers, Engineers, Welders, Plumbers, and Steel Erectors which ensures we can complete all elements of a project from within our own highly trained team.
With the introduction of our Zeman Steel Beam Assembly Robot to the workshop and increased volume we are looking for a Production Manager to join our team.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the workshop team. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth workshop operations including client liaison, staff coordination and productivity as well as inventory management as required.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Co-ordination of all projects to ensure they meet Client, Quality and WH&S requirements.
- Set target completion dates for each package and ensure this is communicated and displayed for the workshop team.
- Ensure key workshop production targets associated with both trades and robot output are met.
- Management and organisation of weld testing and welder qualifications.
- Management and procurement of all workshop equipment and consumables.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintenance of Steelwork Compliance Australia Certification.
- Review, develop and implement best practice work processes.
- Liaison with General Manager and Project Managers.
- Effective and efficient co-ordination of the tradesmen and apprentices within the workshop- including Roster and RDO Management.
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in a workshop production role or similar
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and interpreting technical shop drawings
- Computer skills with Microsoft packages
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Attention to detail.
- Friendly disposition and a positive can-do attitude
- Strong interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with clients, contractors, and employees at all levels in the organisation.
