We are seeking an experienced Production Manager who is looking to join our leadership team and is passionate about delivering high performance and zero harm.
About the role:
Based at Wetherill Park, an opportunity exists for an experienced Production Manager for a permanent full-time position overseeing the production of a 24/7 chemical manufacturing plant.
Your duties will include:
- Work with production personnel to positively change the philosophy relating to safe working practices, driving to zero injuries to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible production.
- Provide leadership to the plant operating teams to build and strengthen the self-managed work teams.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production areas to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives, including manpower schedules/requirements.
- Prioritises production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency and material supply.
- Manage the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of manufacturing including out of hours to achieve of customer satisfaction.
- Ownership of production improvement activities, coordinating with technical department and sales.
- Participate fully in daily briefings and other meetings or required training.
- Making suggestions for process improvements within area of responsibility.
- Making responsibility for your own safety, complying with Albright & Wilson’s safe working practices and following PPE direction and contributing to a healthy and safe working environment.
- review and process electronic timesheets in a timely manner
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a leadership position for a minimum five (5) years
- Previous experience working with chemicals in an industrial environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of chemical plant and understand chemical/control processes (essential).
- Proven understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation.
- Experience leading and working with a unionised workforce.
- High level of organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines
- Advanced communication skills and the ability to convey information both verbally and written in various formats.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport with all stakeholders
- Clear problem solver with the ability to apply logic or reasoning, identify problems and provide the best solution.
