Position
We are currently seeking a Production Planner to join our team based at our office in Henderson. In this permanent full-time role, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the flow of orders through the business. The Production Planner must effectively communicate with internal departments and external supply companies:
- To Schedule production through the business in the most efficient and cost-effective manner with a focus on safety, quality, and delivery on time.
- To communicate this information to manufacture customer orders in the most efficient and timely manner possible in accordance with key performance indicators and all customer requirements.
- To assist in achieving customer orders are delivered on time, in full, at the estimated cost.
- Aim to continually improve the planning processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements
- Plan production requirements to meet agreed Key Performance Indicators
- Create Scope of Works for projects to ensure all customer and quality requirements are met.
- Confirm orders and liaise with customers on delivery dates
- Monitor levels and order raw material requirements to meet production requirements
- Manage raw material inventory and consumable materials to agreed levels and to ensure appropriate stock on hand
- Monitor production throughput and take necessary action to maintain production plan
- Communicate schedule changes, be able to prioritise and provide guidance on lead times
- Liaise with despatch to ensure deliveries are achieved
- Maintain the integrity of the data within the scheduling system
- To create an environment for continuous improvement
- Ensure effective and appropriate communication between departments and suppliers
Essential Skills & Experience
- A Proactive, can-do mentality. Problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively to seek alternative solutions and exercise judgment where appropriate.
- Excellent customer service with verbal communication skills and capable written skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, planning and inventory control methodologies
- Detailed knowledge of quality control systems
- A proven ability to drive change and continuous innovation to decrease costs and increase efficiencies
- A commitment to teamwork and collaboration in meeting ECI business objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up.
- Committed to safety, quality and ethical work practices.
- Computer literate with the ability to grasp and operate internal and external freight systems as required.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
