This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2024

Roebourne District High School (DHS) is currently seeking a dynamic, innovative, and proactive Program CoordinatorStudent Services to join our Leadership team.

As Program CoordinatorStudent Services, you will be a key member of the leadership team and will work collaboratively to review policies, plans and programs to support students with complex needs. This includes but is not exclusive to, students with disabilities (diagnosed and/or imputed), attendance and engagement challenges, and/or other factors that place students at educational risk. You will provide high level guidance and support to teaching and non-teaching staff members to meet the pastoral care, attendance, social-emotional development, well-being and mental health needs of our students.

Roebourne DHS is currently undergoing a significant build program, with our Student Well-Being Hub due to be completed mid-2024.  The Student Services Coordinator will manage this state of art facility and lead the student well-being programs and initiatives with a team of passionate teachers and support staff.

The role of Program Coordinator - Student Services is dynamic, strategic, proactive, and hands on. As Student Services Coordinator, you will lead with cultural responsiveness and in a context specific manner. You are a leader who forms strong, respectful relationships with students, families, staff and the wider community and are committed to working as part of a close team to identify, understand, and respond to the individual needs of our young people.

The Program Coordinator facilitates workforce effectiveness and provides a role model for self-development to improve professional practice. At Roebourne DHS, educators and leaders are learners too. They engage in ongoing reflective practices, attending to new ideas and ways of working. They seek out and engage in opportunities for professional development within the Karratha Education Network and beyond and share this learning with others. They are effective communicators who are able to handle difficult conversations in compassionate and empathetic ways.

The successful applicant will ideally possess high level case-management skills and have knowledge and experience in effective intervention, monitoring, and reporting strategies. The Student Services Coordinator should also have experience leading the development of documented plans which would involve liaising with families, school staff and external service providers to ensure individual student needs are met.
