This opportunity
This role is responsible for successfully delivering assigned programs and sub projects based on business demand.
This role will be responsible for leading multiple projects, major high risk and complex projects or programmes, and accountable for the planning, structuring and execution of these projects.
This position will report to the GM IT ERP, BI, Workplace and will use the program disciplines and processes as per TPG Telecom standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse team of delivery professionals, creating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Accountable for delivery both CMID program and Target Data Architecture program to be on time, budget with quality.
- Govern delivery of programmes; Resolve any issues and instigate corrective action as appropriate (Issues management and analysis).
- Coordinate with program managers and other stakeholders to create detailed implementation plans. This includes deadlines, milestones, processes, and risk mitigation protocols.
- Manage, coach and mentor project managers within program and ensuring they are on the right path in terms of TPG IT process and methodologies.
- Ensure the delivery of new capability and/or services from the projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, according to the programme plan
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Lead steer-co stakeholder discussions at program level, facilitation, consultation, negotiation and reporting/presentation skills, including the ability to influence people at all levels, and foster and maintain collaborative working relationships both within and outside the organisation.
- Adhere to the TPG IT delivery framework. Ensures that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained.
- Ensure active management of financials including forecasting and accruals
- Vendor governance and control over deliverables
- Review program reports and ensure project manager working within the program provide reports showing the status of the project against agreed plans, with analysis of deviations and assessment of risks to future deliverables including ability to develop and implement go to green plans for projects in red or amber status
- Establish and maintain a successful delivery culture within the data delivery portfolio
- Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders (Technology groups) to ensure project is delivered with quality.
- Ensure operational handover for program is done effectively.
- Adhere to Vodafone policies and procedures as introduced and varied from time to time
- Demonstrated Program or Major Project management experience, leading and successfully delivering strategic IT projects/programs of work with budgets in excess of $20m+, ensuring delivery meets budget, time and quality standards.
- Experience of managing multiple parties including Senior Project Managers and 3rd party vendors on high profile and technologically innovative enterprise solutions
- Telco Data experience preferred.
- Ability to manage large teams across multiple sites and create a sense of teamwork by pulling together the different members of the programme teams who may be unrelated and dissimilar
- Demonstrate a high level knowledge of project management delivery processes.
- Strong leadership and communication ability with a demonstrated ability to be pragmatic.
- Demonstrate exposure to delivery of IT / Data based programs
- Demonstrate strong vendor management capabilities and ability to work with cross functional teams
- Solid vendor management skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management, financial skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to work across various levels of technical and managerial teams
