We are seeking an experienced Program Head to lead our Women’s Health program who will be responsible for leading, developing and maintaining the standing of the Women’s Health program.
The Opportunity:
This role will report to the Program Director for Women’s Health and will have a series of direct reports within the project team.
The specific functions of this position are to define and deliver the program goals with a particular focus on Australia specific goals, manage the team, set and meet the budget and align activities with the broader strategic goals of The George Institute.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Strategic development and management of the program in Australia with a focus on issues that affect women both locally and globally
- Implement of the Women’s Health Program and TGI’s mission, strategy and objectives
- Develop and report on annual performance indicators
- Cultivate the global mindset to the implementation of the research program
- Support and develop sustainability of Communities of Practice
- Contribute to TGI’s Research and Impact Committee
- Lead and prepare high-impact journal publications, media reports and other outputs
- Obtain peer-reviewed and other funding to lead large-scale research projects.
- Lead collaboration with UNSW on developing and implementing strategic goals for Women’s Health
- Mentor and develop the program team to achieve research goals and career aspirations
- Contribute to postgraduate supervision and teaching with UNSW partners and within the George Institute.
Our Successful Candidate
- PhD in a relevant health-related discipline and post-graduate qualification in public health or women’s health
- At least 10 years of clinical experience either in women’s health, or 10 years in experience in women’s public health
- Experience working as a Principal Investigator and leading high-quality independent research projects with demonstrated impact and outputs
- Demonstrated success in achieving research funding from peer-reviewed and other sources.
- Evidence of engagement with non-medical stakeholders, such as policymakers, government, multilateral or NGOs.
- Evidence of teaching and post-graduate supervision experience
