The Role
Managing and overseeing multiple projects within an integrated program structure from inception through the completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing program delivery plans, including the scoping of underpinning projects
- Ensuring alignment of the program within the wider portfolio and the underpinning business case
- Identifying inter project dependencies and working with relevant stakeholders to ensure plans can be carried out effectively and dependencies are resolved.
- Developing program budgets and managing delivery within budget.
- Designing and developing strategies and processes, in consultation with team members/stakeholders/business consultants, which will support the implementation of the program.
- Determining program resourcing requirements, managing resource and capabilities across the program landscape (including capabilities sourced from 3rd party vendors).
- Identifying risks effecting delivery outcomes and where necessary deploys contingencies to ensure completion of the program.
- Developing and managing program controls including effective program status reporting.
- Representing or having involvement with corporate projects, committees, change management programs as required.
- Quality assurance of outcomes and services delivered within the projects.
Skills & Experience
- Proven ability as a Program Manager to plan and phase the delivery of a complex program of work with multiple stakeholders using both waterfall and agile techniques.
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams delivering multiple concurrent projects, making changes to existing systems and building new capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with extensive experience with unifying the views of senior executives, external industry stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and internal staff.
- Understanding of operations, procedures and policies related to the specific client domain.
- Extensive experience overseeing program risks, issues, dependencies and benefits management at the whole of program level.
- Proven commercial acumen to work across both T&M and Fixed Price engagements.
- Excellent communicator, with strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Gravitas and presence with the ability to influence with and without authority.
Certifications:
- Managing Successful Programs (MSP) certification or similar highly desirable
- Project management certifications like PRINCE2 or similar highly desirable.
