Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Project Portfolio Manager, the Program Manager has responsibility for ensuring successful implementation of the Fund's Alternate Assets Portfolio Management System (AA PMS) and associated inter-dependent solutions (from other Investment Portfolio programs) to time, cost and quality levels.
Role Responsibilities:
- Working with the Principal, Investment Group Delivery, Principal Project Governance and program stakeholders to ensure alignment of the Investments portfolio of work across the Fund, including prioritising delivery of required designs (and associated decisions/dependencies in other programs/projects), and facilitate a transition from workable solutions to continuous delivery (in BAU).
- Ensuring appropriate delivery frameworks are in place with all relevant projects, subject matter experts, consultants, strategic partners and vendors, and refresh as required.
- Engaging effectively with internal suppliers including Tech Services, SRCM, Change & Communications, and other key internal contributors to deliver the program/project's collective needs.
- Relentlessly resolving delivery issues - and escalating quickly to appropriate stakeholders (internal/external) where needed.
- Driving project delivery management discipline across the program/projects to support projects' progression through the standard project delivery lifecycle and decision gates.
- Acting as an SME to the program's project managers, leveraging available tools to access all required information accurately.
- Developing and maintaining program/project level functions, such as resource and vendor management and assurance activities.
- Harnessing a positive, proactive and team-oriented attitude with a strong desire to learn and continuously improve.
- Supporting the financial management of the projects/program through financial and vendor management including forecasting, resource planning and statement of work tracking.
What you'll need
The successful applicant will have significant experience as a Program and Delivery Manager.
This will include:
- Managing teams, coordinating cross-functional delivery efforts and encouraging process improvement to ensure delivery focus is maintained/enhanced.
- Working with project managers to focus on completing the project on time while meeting business requirements, even if these change throughout the project.
- Applying analytical skills to assimilate and analyse large amount of data from multiple sources.
- Developing Steering Committee (or related Delivery forum) Reports, Dashboards and Papers for Executives, Management Teams and/or Program Directors.
- Managing conflicting priorities across the program and applying the necessary changes across a program of work to maintain solution delivery priorities.
- Engaging / managing senior business stakeholders (business sponsor/owners/executives) on a proactive 'no surprises' basis.
- Applying agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Significant experience within vendor-dependent / information technology project environments.
- Demonstrated experience in applying project recovery techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate and project procurement processes including tendering, vendor SOW management.
- Ability to structure and manage multi-disciplinary teams across multiple functions; creatively define the program's/projects' pacing and obtain incremental benefits before the program is completed/transitioned to BAU.
- Strong leadership skills within a team where high performance is expected.
- Providing support to Portfolio Director's budgeting/forecasting needs, as part of the Fund business planning process.
- Managing costs and looking for ways to improve Member value (e.g. identifying cost saving opportunities and early transition to BAU opportunities).
- Project management qualifications, such as Prince2 or PMP.
- Tertiary degree in business, finance, science/engineering or IT.
