Program Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our client's team in Roma, QLD for a government opportunity.

We are seeking an operational leader for Program Manager role to guide and support in managing the planning, design and oversee the construction Projects across a broad array of functions.

• Roads and Drainage
• Parks, Gardens and Reserves
• Waste, and
• Flood Mitigation

The Program Manager will be based in Roma, QLD but will lead teams and manage a program across the region.
Contract Details

• Contract Ending: 12 months + (possible extension) 2x12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, advice, and guidance to the PMO Project Managers and Officers assigned to delivering the projects.
• Ensure transparent and effective financial controls are maintained during delivery of projects.
• Coordinate effective Program Management including resource management and procurement strategies for labour, plant, and materials.
• Identify current business needs or issues and potential productivity improvements.
• Foster a culture of participation in continual improvement.
• Maintaining a detailed program of works to ensure projects are thoroughly planned and executed.
• Consistent focus on the 'non-engineering' parts of Engineering Service delivery.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in project management within a similar industry, on large scale, complex, high risk, varying and/or multiple projects.
• Degree qualifications in Engineering
• Demonstrated program/project management skills with the ability to execute tasks from inception to completion.
• Ability to negotiate with, manage and supervise external contractors and consultants.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with high level of interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
• The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, both at site and remotely from site.
• Ability to read and understand work scopes, technical specifications, with a sound knowledge of WHS, Safety in Design, Environmental, Quality, procedures, and standards.
