About the Department
Our client a federal agency is responsible for foreign policy and relations, international aid, consular services and trade and investment including trade and investment promotion Austrade.
Key Duties
The services include the coordination and delivery management of complex projects, to participate in quality assurance activities to manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives on various projects.
The program manager will be required to undertake the following activities associated with the role:
- Lead and manage large and complex programs, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Provide leadership in program governance, including planning, financial management, reporting, risk and issue management, and dependency management.
- Adapt and work across various delivery methodologies.
- Build and lead multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Engage with Federal Government procurement processes to successfully manage 3rd party vendors, contracts, and project deliverables.
- Work closely with business areas, technical experts, and external resources to deliver project outcomes.
- Undertake effective planning and coordinating of activities to successfully deliver project outcomes.
- Coordinate the delivery project outcomes in line with architecture alignment, program delivery and financial outcomes.
- Develop and maintain projects artefacts, such as project plans, status reports and benefits management:
- Resource planning and coordination as required.
- Deliver quality project outcomes and business benefits in line with agreed business case objectives and aligned to the project, program, portfolio management and architectural governance framework.
- Risk management activities for projects, ensuring appropriate and effective governance arrangements are adhered to supported by comprehensive reporting.
- Establish, maintain and coordinate stakeholder engagement to facilitate input.
- Initiate, establish and maintain strong relationships with an extensive range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Negotiate and cooperate with a range of stakeholders to ensure the achievement of project outcomes.
- Align project delivery and planning to the broader strategic Departmental objectives.
- Undertake complex work activities covering technical, resource, financial, people, stakeholders and procedural and governance issues.
- Adapt quickly with flexibility and capacity to changing demands, priorities and direction.
- Other general duties as required.
Please note: This is a security designated position and specified Personnel will be required to hold a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance prior to commencement
