Program Officer
Location: Paramatta with Flexible/remote working options available
Employment type: Ongoing full-time role
Salary: $106,025 pa to $117,363 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

Your role
Transforming Aboriginal Outcomes teams work in partnership with Aboriginal community stakeholders, representatives and their families to drive change within DCJ. This role will program manage a portfolio of activities which puts Aboriginal families and culture at the centre of everything we do and supports a whole of systems transformation to make this happen.
What you’ll do
This role is responsible for delivery against major strategic policy and reform projects including (but not limited to):
• Analysis and reporting on frameworks for culturally appropriate casework to support Aboriginal children and young people
• Administer governance and oversight mechanisms to ensure an Aboriginal-led decision making process.
• Support the implementation and design of the Aboriginal Child Safety and Welfare reform program
• Develop and implement framework/policy in consultation with Aboriginal people and communities
• Transforming Aboriginal Outcomes provides program management of key child protection system reform initiatives. The role provides analysis and implementation support for systemic change initiatives and matters related to improving outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and community portfolio with stakeholders from a range of department business areas.
• Key functions include supporting the design and delivery of services in partnership with Aboriginal children and families, and supporting the redesign of DCJ approach to working with Aboriginal people.

What we’re looking for
In addition to meeting the essential requirements, the successful candidate must demonstrate:
• Strong cultural knowledge with a profound understanding of Aboriginal community issues relating to child protection, out-of-home care and permanency, domestic violence and housing.
• Inclusive engagement skills that provides Aboriginal people with opportunities to participate by reducing barriers, and engaging in meaningful and supportive ways
• Ability to influence and negotiate change to contribute to positive outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and communities inspires internal and external stakeholders
