Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable Program Officer/ Case Manager, working across wider organisational recommendations. By Joining the team, this role provides expert advice and program support to the NSW Health Professional Council's regulatory program via case management activities. This role requires someone with experience in regulatory environments, having worked with board/committees, excellent organisational skills and an advanced understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements.
Role Title: Program Officer/ Case Manager
Contract Length: Till 12/05/2024 with a chance of extension
Hourly Pay: $43.12 + Super per hour.
Location: Gladesville, (2 days in office)/WFH Hybrid
Role Requirements:
This role entails looking at two high risk categories:
- Practitioners whose conduct, performance or health suggest complex management so that more than one type of regulatory response may be required and
- Immediate action matters, to enable the Council to meet is statutory responsibilities in regard to practitioners who may put the health or safety of the public at risk.
- Prepare quality briefs to facilitate consultation with Council within short timeframes in relation to possible urgent immediate actions.
- Manage the administration of complex hearings, immediate actions matters, performance assessments and re-assessments to meet legislative requirements and performance measures.
- Provide assistance and advice to Council delegates conducting immediate action matters in relation to Council processes. Work in consultation with Legal Officers, Monitoring and Program teams as required, ensuring outcomes of any immediate actions are handed over to relevant teams.
- Manage case load of practitioners who are subject to complaints that have been referred to more than one type of regulatory action/intervention (conduct, performance, health).
- Coordinate concurrent processes and monitor the progress of the complaints to facilitate their effective and efficient management, in line with legislative requirements and performance measures, and internal procedures and other benchmarks.
- Provide up to date and accurate information to practitioners, complainants and / or relevant stakeholders regarding status of Council related processes.
- Making high level decisions, recommendations to managers and escalations to supervisors.
- Managing multiple projects and activities and the need to produce high quality outcomes and deliverables within an environment where there may be numerous competing priorities, statutory deadlines, process benchmarks, limited resources and/or operational support and multiple stakeholder expectations.
- Clearly communicating the relevant issues and decision-making processes appropriately and succinctly in any written document or verbal report.
- Dealing with complex issues which may be sensitive and confidential and identifying serious matters, notifications or complaints which require referral or urgent action.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality administrative support to boards/committees and delegates preferably within a regulatory environment.
- Well-developed organisational skills and proven ability to manage high volume workloads, to work autonomously and be proactive.
- High level of understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements; ability to be sensitive and discreet in a range of situations.
- Experience in the review / development of operational policies and procedures.
