Solution Architect
About the role
The Program Solutions Architect is responsible for the creation and development of all the solutions architectures and delivery of the technical designs for each project initiative specified within the NSWPF business units and/or divisions.
The Program Solution architect also works with other Solution Architects, Technology Champions, and Security Architects as a team. The Program Solution Architect also supports other Solution Architects working on other projects to review the design and integrate the solution designs developed for individual projects into the program design.
Skills & experience
- Performs in undertaking the analysis of the current/planned Solution Architecture deliverables including the technical designs to ensure the program or project has the capability and capacity to meet the needs of the stakeholder and the customer, aligning with their requirements - via a sound Business Requirements Specifications (BRS), ensuring alignment between customer expectations and current or future IT capability.
- Develop the creation of architectures including the technical designs and solutions associated with the program or project, ensuring deliverables align with Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework, principles, and governance processes.
- Ensure solutions align with the strategic direction for technology investments, ensure that solutions are developed, tested, and implemented accordingly in line with the technology roadmap, and report on solution delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agree upon timeframes.
- Identify potential technical challenges and risks early in the project life cycle, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to manage and communicate risks effectively.
- Work with the internal program and project resources, such as other solutions architects, developers and development teams and assist in developing and then implementing proposed specified business unit or division solutions within agreed timeframes, and work with the wider EAS team to ensure the architectures align with the enterprise standards, patterns and best practices, and the strategic directions set for the organisation.
- At least a minimum of 5+ years' experience in defining applications solutions architecture and design, integrations, infrastructure, and cloud architectures, such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google cloud and hybrid services.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of TOGAF (certification in TOGAF or equivalent)
- Experience in the following technologies/frameworks:
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Digital technology and development; and Service Orientated Architecture (SOA).
- Experience in transformation programs such as data center refresh and/or migration to cloud.
- Integration architecture experience including iPaaS, API Gateways, ETL, ESB and related technologies (e.g., REST, JSON, etc).
- Knowledge of Virtualisation platforms, such as VMware, OpenShift etc.
- Prior experience in AWS, Azure, and/or Google cloud services.
