Full Time Sous Chef
SALARY $70,000 - $80,000 + SUPERANNUATION
SUMMARY
Compass Pizza is a unique venue with extensive food options, fully licensed bar, abundance of character and warm ambience. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Sous Chef to grow our business together and to cook up and serve with lots of love to our local customers. We offer a great work environment with a fantastic team.
We seek an applicant who:
• Has experience in putting high quality food on the pass, and maintains high standards
• Has strong leadership and management skills with the ability to create a motivating environment
• Has enriched experience or knowledge in the pizza and pasta, fried and roasted scene
• Experience cooking and managing a kitchen team
• Has no issue with following directions
• Understanding of food health, safety and handling procedures
• Is an excellent multi-tasker with good initiative
• Possesses a demonstrable passion for pizza and pasta
• Has excellent inter-personal skills, maintaining a calm demeanour in high-pressure situations and uses these traits to perform well in a team
• Is open to having input into seasonal menu design and on-going dish development
• Seeks to further their skillset and food knowledge by showcasing local produce
• Relevant Certificate III, IV, Diploma in hospitality with at least two years of work experience preferred (At least three years’ work experience without qualification)
Key Responsibilities:
• Showcase strong managerial capabilities by leading and supervising kitchen operations.
• Lead by example and share your knowledge of techniques, cooking and preparing procedures with the kitchen team.
• Mentor and guide junior chefs and cooks to nurture their skills and uphold our culinary standards.
• Maintain an exceptional level of food quality, and presentation consistently.
• Efficiently manage inventory, food costs, and rosters to optimise kitchen performance.
• Collaborate with the team to innovate and refine menu offerings while adhering to our commitment to produce.
• Vigilantly enforce all hygiene and food safety regulations as per statutory requirements.
• Oversee the maintenance and procurement of kitchen equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Drive the best-in-class culture to align with restaurant management focus.
