Job description

Job Title: Programme Management Office (PMO) Lead
Location: (including hybrid): Melbourne, Australia
Salary: $130,000 - $200,000
Closing date for applications: Friday 22nd March 2024
Kaluza wants to power a world where net-zero is within everyone's reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable and resilient energy transition. It's a huge challenge, but often the toughest problems are the most rewarding to solve.
Since launching in 2019, Kaluza's technology has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers.
From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform supplier operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies.
Kaluza is currently in an exciting growth phase, undergoing the next phase of our international expansion in Melbourne to further reinforce our capabilities as a globally distributed energy platform.
This means that you would be one of the earliest Kaluza employees on the ground in Australia, working directly with our clients in the region.
We're in the early days of building our team and so in-office presence to us is important - working really closely with our clients to forge a strong working relationship. Our team currently works from our office in Melbourne CBD (Spencer St) 2-3 days per week.
Our goal is to build a self-sufficient and empowered team here on the ground in Australia. We're well on our way, but until we get there we still have some reliances on our UK team. Being comfortable working flexibly for a portion of your working week to cover time zones is required.
Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?
Kaluza's Programme Management Office work in Client Delivery. They are at the heart of delivering maximum value to our clients by orchestrating our major implementation programmes and ongoing professional services projects. In this role, you'll facilitate work getting done across multiple organisations, have strong empathy skills, commercial nous and, of course, be extremely organised. You'll be able to draw on years of experience working with clients to deliver complicated projects that contribute to transformation through technology.
You'll be helping support initiatives which are delivering Kaluza's Energy Retail platform and Kaluza's Flexibility platform.
The Energy Retail platform is a SaaS technology platform that aims to revolutionise the operating platforms for energy retailers globally. This platform has been built with scale and technical quality in mind and is the foundation for decarbonisation efforts by Kaluza's customers.
Our Flexibility platform is to be the nervous system connecting energy retailers, grid operators, and consumers, Flex will aid us in creating the distributed, consumer-centric, dynamic energy system of the future. Bridging the gap between distributed renewable generation and smart devices, it helps consumers shift their energy consumption to times when there's more renewable energy. This not only saves them money, but enables society as a whole to meet the challenge of decarbonising transport and residential heating/cooling. We're also supporting this vital shift by building the innovative technology behind unique, market-leading customer propositions like Vehicle to Grid and Drive Anytime Energy Plan with our energy retailer partners.
What will I be doing?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced project professional to establish and run an effective and successful Programme Management Office (PMO). A PMO Manager at Kaluza sits at the centre of programme delivery, looking to add value in all directions - involved in reporting progress to senior leadership, interacting across client programme functions and working closely with Kaluza's project managers and delivery teams.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Coordinating the programme operations to ensure they deliver successfully
Enhancing and driving project governance standards and processes to ensure consistency and compliance across programmes.
Supporting planning and the management of schedules at programme level.
Providing document and configuration management (knowledge management).
Supporting identification and mitigation of programme risks, working closely with project managers and stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies.
Monitoring project performance metrics, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.
Engaging with project managers, delivery teams and broader stakeholders to educate and champion programme ways of working.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies.
Kaluza is currently in an exciting growth phase, undergoing the next phase of our international expansion. This will further reinforce our capabilities as a globally distributed energy platform and means that you would be one of the first Kaluza employees on the ground in Australia!
