About The Role
- Act as the finance point of contact for the Account team, overseeing various aspects related to projects.
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the contract, displaying expertise in finance and related components.
- Provide financial and commercial insights, as well as technical accounting guidance, utilising corporate finance functions when necessary.
- Assist in financial planning and forecasting processes related to the Projects Account.
- Manage the project register, ensuring data accuracy and monthly reconciliation with the Trail balance.
- Collaborate with the Projects team on various monthly administrative tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable data validation, and margin analysis.
- Handle month-end activities, such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and inter-company transactions for all projects.
- Process and report monthly operating results, offering comprehensive financial analysis for the portfolio.
- Implement accounting policies, processes, and procedures to control financial assets and ensure timely, complete, and accurate financial information.
- Collaborate with the wider finance organisation and relevant support functions to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and error-free processing of financial transactions.
- Oversee the integrity of financial statements by coordinating month-end close processes, including reconciliations and associated analyses.
- Participate in various projects within the broader finance organisation and address ad hoc tasks as necessary.
- Maintain documentation for visibility and accountability of Projects POC accounting, covering expense and revenue accruals and client billing.
- Identify initiatives for operational efficiency improvements within the related business to enhance profitability and client innovation benefits.
- Collaborate with Client functions to identify and implement process improvement gains, exploring opportunities to extend benefits throughout the wider business.
- Participate in various projects within the broader Accounts and handle ad hoc tasks as directed by the Director.
- Possess well-developed skills in stakeholder relationship management, emphasising a 'customer first' approach and a collaborative mindset.
- Demonstrated experience in applying financial acumen and commercial savvy to drive profitable business growth.
- Possess technical accounting knowledge, particularly in revenue recognition and lease accounting, with the ability to effectively apply it in diverse business environments.
- Extensive expertise in POC Accounting.
- Familiarity and experience with the use of an ERP.
- Knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance requirements, maintaining a robust, SOX-compliant internal control environment.
- Bring at least 3 years of operational finance/projects accounting experience.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in business, accounting, or finance.
- Completed or working towards a postgraduate professional qualification (CA or CPA).
