Project Accountant

Job Details:

• Work Schedule: 5 days in the office with potential for 1 day per week work-from-home after training is completed
• Abundance of projects requiring a candidate with a finance background and understanding to assist with reporting
• Handover will be completed to ensure a smooth transition.

Position Summary/Objectives of Incumbent: This position is a temporary role for a period of 12 month covering maternity leave. The Project Accountant will be responsible for daily transactions in project billing and revenue recognition, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), managing month-end reporting and project module closure, preparing profit & loss reporting, accrual journals, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. The role involves being the finance business partner for project management and coordination teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handle daily transactions in project billing and revenue recognition.
2. Design and track KPIs to assess project status and provide updated reporting.
3. Manage month-end reporting and project module closure.
4. Prepare profit & loss reporting for transacted/closed projects during the month.
5. Prepare accrual journals for revenue/cost and ensure monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
6. Act as the finance business partner for project management and coordination teams.
7. Ensure compliance with the latest accounting policies and communicate guidelines to the business.
