As a result, we are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our growing finance team.
Based in our West Perth office and offered on a full-time basis, you’ll work closely with our operational project delivery teams to manage business and project financial activities including reporting and overall accounting standards compliance. Critical to the success of this role is the ability to understand our data and having the confidence to question and interrogate the information your provided to ensure the ongoing robustness of our financial data.
OUR ROLE
Reporting to our Senior Management Accountant, in this role you will:
- Oversee and support overall project finance and financial reporting activities
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, variances and consolidation;
- Administer month end reporting including system interfaces, accruals and direct/indirect cost verification
- Work closely with the project controls and commercial team/s to ensure cost to date activities are accurate
- Support end of month reconciliation, reporting and compliance for contract valuation purposes
- Maintain and control bank guarantees and/or retention registers for each project
- Assist and support with purchase order management including frequent reviews and closure of open PO’s
- Prepare and transit cash calls and payment runs in accordance with project specifications
- Work collaboratively with our internal stakeholders, subcontractors and vendors to ensure a collaborative and strong working relationship
Great people skills and the ability to build trust is a must, backed by strong communications skills.
You will also ideally have:
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or equivalent with previous Pronto accounting software
- Hold your CA/CPA or be working towards this
- Experience with a range of financial systems is advantageous as is an understand or experience with Power BI
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve;
- Proven communicator who can lead and influence.
