Downer is a leading provider of end-to-end Technology & Communications service solutions. Our wireless line of business offers capability across Project Management, RAN design, SAED, construction and integration services for our customers across both Carrier and Critical Communications networks.
Due to increasing volumes in our National wireless telecommunications programs Downer has an opportunity for a Project Controller to join our team in North Ryde NSW, Melbourne (Derrimut/CBD) VIC or Milton QLD. This is a fixed term opportunity till the end of 2024.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, the Project Controller is responsible for support and management of program/project delivery processes including but not limited to: financial management, head contract and subcontract administration, project team productivity tracking, workforce management systems, compliance with PMO control requirements and Downer standards.
- Prepare project reports including progress, resource information, including forecast and actual delivery targets.
- Prepare project documents, minutes and guidance material as required by project team.
- Track the progress of the project and the changes to the project program, cost, and scope of work.
- Assist in the development of improved workflows, processes and work instructions that support the project.
- Supporting development and use of Workforce Management tools - either Service Now or Dynamics.
- Promote safe working practices and a culture of safe behaviours and attitudes.
- Tertiary qualification desirable in Project Controls or scheduling
- Several years' experience in a large project team preferably within a Telecommunications or Construction based environment.
- Experienced with Project Controls including disciplines of Cost, Schedule, Risk, Quality and Document Control.
- Strong Influencing and negotiation skills.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external clients & stakeholders.
- Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
