About the Position
Tauondi Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dynamic and visionary Project Coordinator to lead a ground-breaking educational initiative. As the Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education by leading the development of an innovative educational model tailored to the distinct motivations and needs of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners. This unique opportunity involves collaborating closely with our dedicated team, a partnering organisation, industry experts, and community stakeholders to design and establish a transformative learning environment that prioritises cultural connections and lived experiences.
Key Responsibilities
As the Project Coordinator for Tauondi Special Assistance School, your primary focus is to provide visionary leadership, developing a compelling vision for the new school aligned with Tauondi's strategic goals. This involves inspiring and guiding the team, fostering collaboration, and advocating for the vision externally by building key partnerships. Community-centric engagement is crucial, requiring collaboration with local communities, educators, and students to co-create a school that authentically reflects their needs. Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders to enhance the school's integration.
In addition, you'll lead the innovative conceptualisation of the school, defining its unique identity and fostering an inclusive and adaptive environment. Strategic curriculum development is integral, involving collaboration with experts to design a curriculum emphasising project-based, experiential learning. Finally, your responsibilities extend to overseeing the school's establishment process, obtaining necessary approvals, and securing funding and resources for its development and sustainability.
Essential Duties
- Direct the creation of a transformative learning environment that fosters the development of agency, wellbeing, and practical real-world skills for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.
- Prioritise cultural connections and lived experiences in the design and establishment of the educational setting.
- Lead the development of a comprehensive plan for the establishment, including securing school registration and ensuring adherence to educational standards.
