ABOUT THE ROLE
This role can be either part-time (22hrs pw) or full-time (38hrs pw).
The Project Coordinator helps shape the thinking of communities and businesses about the benefits of an inclusive society and workforce in relation to people with disability in Western Australia (WA). The role will build the capacity of the regional WA community to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.
People with disability are encouraged to apply, and personal experience of disability will be highly regarded.
The initial contract is for 12 months.
CAPABILITY PROFILE
Education/Training/Qualifications (or equivalent experience):
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL
Experience:
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse team.
- Ability to work with businesses, other Not-For-Profits, local government and community groups to ensure project outcomes are achieved.
- Knowledge of and experience with a range of disabilities including an understanding of the barriers to employment and community participation experienced by people with a disability.
- Experience working with First Nations groups and communities.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of the challenges experienced by rural communities and businesses.
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing skills.
- Attention to detail and creative problem solving skills.
- Sound computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and internet).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will be based in Bunbury. Work related travel in the WA region is a core feature of the Project Coordinator position. A Driver’s License, or accessible personal transport, is essential.
You will be dealing with immuno-compromised people therefore current COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations are essential.
Some out of hours work is required. Attending events outside of working hours will be managed in accordance with the organisation’s time-off-in-lieu policy.
